  • good try for a first build-i have not yet accomplished that-did u bend the flats by hand or have a jig

  • I built a jig. I had a few issues and over traveled the press and hit a bolt at the bottom and warped the receiver slightly. Th next one will be better.

  • why the knee pads?

  • Bad knees. Two motorcycle wrecks and being blown from a truck at 20, makes them hurt at 50. Much easier to drop to a knee. Goofy? Yes, but effective.

  • Looks like all the comments were from people who have never built an AK from a parts kit.

How the hell can any of you tell anything from one video????

    What a bunch dumb assholes.

  • Well it may look that way, but I appreciate the comments none the less, they may be helpful if I had not already been there. The failure is due to me warping the receiver slightly when I bent it. The issue will be fixed when I bent my next flat and replace the receiver. Now I am glad I did my first build as a screw build. :-)

    Thanks

  • lol, even tha cameras ducking for cover, hahahaha!

ok.... kids, who might build/ shoot guns later i life, watching this video:

1.never shoot a gun if u have to put that mutch pressure on the mag, it still needs more fitting.

2.never take the cover off that is intended to protect you incase there is open bolt malfunction.

3.and of corse dont look straight down after doing so and fire it.

4.and unless your going to drop to a knee, leave the knee pads for your wife.

  • If you are a die hard fan you're never going to want to hear anything bad about the rifle you love. I like the AK...I just don't love the AK. They are fun to build and shoot. But they are far from perfect. That's all I was saying. If my life depends on it...I'll take an AR or HK first.

  • Hey man cool vid thanks for sharing. Just one piece of advice though. When you are firing a build for the 1st time u should only load 1 round in mag and fire. If all goes well then 2 rounds and keep doing same thing until 5 rounds then go with a full mag. I wouldn't suggest trying to bump fire on first test firing of a new build. This is usually to prevent runaways which are even possible in semi auto builds not to mention chain fire, etc. Still cool vid hope the next receiver works better!

  • @gigalo86 While that helps, the gas tube still does dump into the receiver. The Saiga I was having problems didn't have holes, FWIW.

  • @AreThereNoMoreNames if you look at the front of the gas tube it has 4 gas vests and if you look directly in front of the front trunnion there is another 2 openings. i cant speak for all aks tho just my yugo built aks.

  • i really dont know what to say...to bumb fire a gun that has problems like this is crazy

was the bolt geting hung on the mag lips or what?

  • Nice bolt action

  • nice my first build the bolt carrier moved to fast and split the reciver by the rear trunnion rivet a little mig weld and ball pin hammer fixed that

  • I think the problem come from the reciever. U can buy a plate reciever and build it from urself i think is better.. I got a vz58 its the czechoslovakian ak47 but with differen mecanism and is to good like ak47 and to reliable.. U can buy one very cheap. Look up my vids "bumbo186" and u see it.. Peace to all people..
