@DarkReapersGrim Why you write this on videos of this show? I'm a Muslim Israeli (though not Arab). At least 1/5 of Israeli citizen are Palestinian Arabs. This show is about the thin line between culture experienced as citizens here. Of course it's meant for Israel's entertainment. It's a sitcom! Yes, it's difficult leaving politics out of anything here most times. But how is this at Palestinians' expense? I've also known many Muslim women who date Jewish men & would like it to be seen as well(:

@GerevMasriaH It might be rare but marriages happen between arab women (muslim or christian) and jewish men.I have met a jewish man who was married to a iranian persian muslim woman. As much as people think it doesnt happen,it actually does. Some people from both sides of the family wont allow it and some will allow it.I think it depends on how cultrual and religious are the jewish and arab muslim families.

The truth is the show shows both its Jewish and Arab characters as acting foolishly. The Amjad character wants to integrate into Israeli-Jewish society, and he's most often the butt of the jokes. (He is based on the writer and creator of the show, Sayed Kashua, who is an Arab citizen of Israel.)
Pretty much the only characters who escape mockery are the female Arab characters. The Arab males and all the Jewish character (males and females) are the ones made fun of most.

It's interesting that you think an Arab woman dating a Jewish man is demeaning, by the way, both of the characters are Israeli citizens played by actors who are Israeli citizens. In reality, most mixed couples in Israel are actually Arab men with Jewish women.
As for a Jewish man dating an Arab woman being an example of "catering to an Israeli audience",actually according to Jewish religious law, that's worse, because any offspring of non-Jewish women are not considered Jews.

Garbage show exploiting Palestinian Arabs and catering to the Israeli audience in the name of "acceptance" and a "bridge of two peoples." Instead of having a Palestinian man date an Israeli woman, they have an Israeli man date a Palestinian women. Why? Because it's catering to the Israeli audience. And the main character, Amjad, is ashamed of his Palestinian Arab culture and wants to adopt the rituals of Israeli society and culture. Why? Again, because this show is catering to Israelis.

@BBarNavi 1st, what's a j-dub? Isn't j-dub the stage name of some Jewish rapper? What does he have to do with the conversation? And what took you so long to respond to my comment?
-
@BBarNavi The film wasn't made -- I was expelled. YouTube doesn't post scripts or plot outlines. And don't be a jerk. I won't reply to insults. (The terrorist attack was a dorm bombing on a university campus. Officially, it never happened because "You have to understand how they feel!")
Hi there and thanks,
At the moment, the series is going to Film Festival and will be premiered in SFJFF in August. Screenings are planned in NY for November. Please keep in touch
