Here's a vid of my turtles. The bigger one is Isis, I've had her since July of '08. The little one has no name yet, I've had it sine 13MAR2009. Any comments with help on care is welcomed. I need a larger tank, still saving for tank/stand/hood. A UVB bulb/clamp on the way. Still saving for a better dock. I live in middle of figgin nowhere Alaska and all roads lead to nowhere (literally). The tank is 55 gal and the filter is a Rena canister 175 gal. There are eight guppies still living, not pets just food. I had two goldfish and ten guppies about a month ago, they just keep dissappearing over night. The current dock is Zoo Med LARGE docks cut square and zip tied together. I think Isis has shell rot? Her prior owner was a 4 y/o and she lived in a 15 gal tank with a whisper external filter with a small dock for two (or three) years. The floating white thing is a turtle bone (has calcium) for them to munch on. The food is several types of turtle pellets (etc) mixed together. Their fav is shrimp and krill.. Or live fish when their not to lazy for a hunt ;)

  • Oh nice!!! I am thinking of getting a fluval at my local aqarium shop they are the cheapest I saw look forward to seeing an update video if you get a chance to make one...hope the turtles are well

  • A fluval is more affordable and the replacements are easy enough to find.

    I, however, adore my Rena!

  • umm youturtle looks like it can escape

  • She almost did once. I found her on the top of the tank and it scared the begeegees out of me.

I now have them in a 100 gallon tank and have a topper on it to prevent her from trying that move again.

  • i see you got the heat lamp --do the turtles like it????

  • They adore it ;)

    Isis' shell is slowly healing.

  • Stop by my local fish shop they were out of smaller fluval but I did see the Rena but it was over $100 So I did a trade with them and got another zoo med 501 canister filter

  • OH really your parts are harder to find? well searching around like on ebay and other pet stores are pricey and at the shop I go to really good prices even on fish and my zoo med 501 canister filter was $20 cheaper them from petsmart/petco I have a 30g long

  • I have a Rena Filstar 175 gallon.

At that time I had a 75 gallon.

I have upgraded tanks since then and have not taken video.

  • Nice set-up cute to see the big turtle and little one get along...May I ask what canister filter you are using?

  • lmao nice song
