I Have Known It All This Time

(I've known it all this time) that i'd have to eventually give DiCaprio up. afterall, he was "just a lease".
(you and I walked a fragile line) our relationship wasnt easy, but he was the most loving horse I've ever known on the ground.

our months together:
tried him last halloween, we were perfect together. jumped everything. lead changes, strides. rollback. fell in love.
trial November to February- not perfect, we found out that my barn didnt mesh with him so great. In December, I stop going around the whole ring. January I stop cantering, much less jumping.
February- decide to lease him anyway. start cantering again, but have lost a lot of confidence.
March- we go to our first show together. I get bucked off twice schooling, then we have great courses (with adds though) and are only 2 points form reserve champion.
April- bonding month ♥ fell in love with Dicaprio's ground behavior :)
May- good and bad, but we went to our second show together and start riding bareback. Summer break starts and we really have fun (:
June- kicks off GREAT. full of hope and finally regaining confidence.
bad fall mid june. lost my confidence again..
July- Dicaprio goes lame. we pony paint him for my birthday :)
D is lame until middle August. we start off slow and he is great (: he's trotting out better than ever and my eq is sortof decent.
I start regaining confidence, and am thinking about going to a show.
then horrible things happen to make me afraid to ride him. hardly any were his fault, hardly any were mine. they just happened, and aren't "youtube appropriate".
The last time I rode DiCaprio was September 9th. That may change someday. But tomorrow, October 28th. almost 1 year since we first met, DiCaprio's owners are taking him back to their barn. to try and sell him.
I love him, but simply can't hold him back any longer. He wasnt the horse for me to ride, at my old barn. He was more of a pet, and one of the best friends I could ever have asked for. I love him, but since I can't keep leasing him, and take him to my new barn.. he's leaving.

This is absolutely precious! You two have been through alot,and just hold on to the good times you had with him,and remember that he loved you so much!

I'm sorry it didn't all work out right,and he had to be sent back to try and sell. You two were great together,even if you have confidence issues(which I really struggle with also), but hopefully,you'll be able to regain that and find another horse as great as DiCaprio!
