No member of the Hugo Chavez Book Club (not even President Obama) can truly be prepared to discuss Eduardo Galeano's 'Open Veins of Latin America' without viewing Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez' interview with Mr. Galeano from May 19th, 2006 on Democracy Now.

  • I'm almost done with 'Open Veins..' and what a great book about the pillage and exploitation of the Americas. I highly recommend it to everyone!! And I look forward to reading some of Mr. Galeano's other books.

  • That term, "the cult of impotence" was also used as a book title by Canadian investigative journalist Linda McQuaig. It's subtitle: Selling the Myth of Powerlessness in the Global Economy. We are not so powerless, as the powers that be would have us think. If only we'd band together & work for positive change so that there may be a future. It's up to us people

  • I'm an european descendent! But I was born and raised in South America. This is where my heart belongs.

  • Excelente!

  • @Habitually233 hehhe so much ignorance, I love democracy now!!! the only trustable media in North America

I expect to speak fluent english someday hehe. Greetings.
