    "Indefensible" Cenk?

    What the fuck?

Have you ever seen a skyscraper on a cloudy day? Half of the scraper is visible and then in the middle there is a cloud and the second half is visible above the clouds. It looks just about like that. And this is what the design was based on.

Despite what so many Americans think (and Cenk too it seems, who I didn't think was an ethnocentrist) the world does not revolve around the US.

Uh, I can't agree with you on that. ALL war is resource aquisition/protection for the rich via the poor. It's all wrong. The poor on both sides go out and slaughter so that the rich can benefit (either via wealth aquisition or successful defence of a source of wealth). Thousands die for the luxury and privilage of the rich. This is a fundamental thing with all war. Hitler wasn't just a random evil thug hell bent on evil. He was after the resources his corporate and financial backers wanted.

Honestly, I can't argue with that. It's really just semantics but it's one of the rare cases where the semantics matter. Is terrorism always wrong? possibly. Is war always wrong? Definitely no. People need to defend themselves, people need to protect their assets and livelihood. Sometimes that means war. Sometimes though, terrorism is the only way to combat fascism, tyranny even, is that a form of war. It's a moral philosophy point I'm undecided on honestly.

The war was over all but over... the Japanese were screaming for surrender... to the Russians. Truman... slaughtered those people needlessly to scare the living fuck out of the world and in particular the Russians for his corporate and financial backers (who obviously wouldn't have a place at the table had communism took root worldwide). Even if you disagree, why not make the case that ALL war is terrorism directed at the public by quarrelling factions of rich power mongers in the name of greed.

Whilst I'd agree, by definition USA is more a perpetrator of terrorism than a victim, I'd argue that any wartime action cannot be considered terrorism. Whilst it does fit the definition it's questionable because it doesn't meet the spirit of what is meant. After all, isn't all wartime tactical action in some way posturing and in effort to force the other side to back down? I would feel for something to be considered terrorism it has to occur outside the boundaries of war.
