I'm probably going to buy this video, the website advertises the scores of the oru seco as well. However, I dont completely agree with your statement about keeping bata music strictly within the religious context. Irakere proved to us all that certain rhythms like iyesa and chachalokuafun make great aditions to latin jazz percussion. Ive even heard the baba furu toque on a ruben blades song and it was beautifull in that context as well.

This person is great artist. The rhythm he is playing is very, very beautifull. I think it is good that the Cuban artists make also their religious art known. As long as they keep it as it is, religious art.
