I think she forgot to mention: they love to lick people, snore and take over the bed and sofa.

No, the American Staffordshire Terrier was Pete the Pup in Our Gang, not Petey from The Little Rascals.

Between these tho breeds, the American Staffordshire Terrier and the American Pit Bull Terrier was not introduced the blood of any other breed. They are the same, but they are just different in shapes, temperament and sizes.

People, read the damn history of the race.
In 1936 the AKC recognized the Pit Bull under the name of "American Staffordshire Terrier". And the bastards breeding their dogs for fighting kept naming their dogs Pit Bulls.
Practically, at that time, the Pit Bull and the Amstaff were the same. Later, the Amstaff breeders selected for breeding only the individuals that fit a physical pattern. The pitbull breeders selected theirs by the strength of the bite, the endurance and so on.

You need to think before you speak. Petey was ABSOLUTELY a Pit Bull terrier. The Amerivan Bulldog is a new breed.

Petey was an American bulldog not an american pit bull terrier..idiots

@PaleGoldLizard I think that Great Danes look better with cropped ears also but it's seldom seen anymore. And, yes, Dobermans benefit in looks from the upright ears but more and more the ears are left natural. Ear cropping will eventually disappear altogether, I believe, simply because fewer and fewer veterinarians are willing to do the procedure. If there's nobody left to do it, how can anyone have it done....?

It's commonly known as a "pit bull grin" and is one of the most beautiful things I can think of.

Wow, this comment kind of makes sense in the mire of the rest of them. Yep, all terriers need lots-o-exercise. My Amstaff got very vigorous workouts daily be it playing with his Jolly ball, swimming or long hikes. I taught him to play soccer and he would hit the ball with his muzzle to kick it when not picking it up to run with it. He would catch a full sized Jolly ball - heavy - in mid air if I kicked it towards him and bark if I didn't.

Smaller gene pool.
Petey was an APBT. no an AmStaf . . . . this lady was wrong on a bout 2/3 of what she said ... at least she got the name right.

Not recognized as a breed? What about the ADBA and UKC, they recognize the American Pit Bull Terrier (and rightfully so) The APBT is a breed of dog like any other and Petey, Stubby, Helen Keller's service dog, and others like them would negate your "they have no use, but fight." comment.
