interestng drill...i,m not knowledgable abt systema but i watched the vid several times. i do see that Ryabko has a feel for leverage as he frequently grabs the longest end of the stick. he also circular spins the end to release the grip. his opponent doesn't do either. its alsoa disadvantage to be onthefloor in terms of leverage. is there more that i,m missing?

What a pile of sh*t. Please do not insult our intellect. The chap on the floor could disengage at any time or he is really dumb.
If the purpose is to take the stick from the fat chap(no insult intended) then it is even easier because fat people have low mobility or stamina.
I played this game and I can tell you this: If you have good base and strength in your hands with ability to feel just when to release pressure a little bit then nobody can take the stick away. Not even Morihei Ueshiba.
