i have just joined two parts of the film which best describes it. you need not be a star to feel , just live your life and it will come to you. a perfectly directed movie and a perfect sound track(sung by Bryan Ferry for his band roxy music)/ i never knew about them but now i love them and esp Ferry's voice.
i personally loved this movie and still think about the part when he asks the next time they'll meet and it turns out to be a 25 year old wait...but the song does what a lifetime couldnt do....regret always comes next

It probably would be hard to relate to if you have not experienced something like this.

That song represented both their childhoods. Ruth allowed herself to realize and feel all her losses - loss of youth, loss of her dreams, loss of her whole life in front of her, loss of people she loved who are gone - loss of that young girl dancing to Roxy Music and Bowie with not really a care in the world. All the losses in her life 'hit' her at once, and she was finally able to cry. Excellent movie.

Daniel Craig had HIV in this movie ...not shown explicitly but he had symptoms .. And he knew it .. Lump under his arm pit .. That's why he left her alone in the end ...

Same here! Just stumbled across this movie and was hooked. Music so nostalgic and ending was beautiful and choked me up as well. One of those movies that stay with you and touches your soul.

Get the album - If you like this track you will love it.

I bought it second hand in Birkenhead - Skeleton Records -on spec in 1975 'cos the whole content looked so cool. Blew me away. Have seen Roxy 10/12 times since then but early days were the best.

Caught this film while channel hopping a couple of nights ago and just started watching expecting to nod off, but got drawn right in which surprised me. This film develops beautifully and quite unexpectedly. I laughed, thought deeply, related and was choked at the end. Early Roxy were my music heroes and that epic song could have inspired the film. Absolutely loved it and can't stop thinking about it. Damn - it brings home some regrets and nostalgia for me. Hope you're reading this Gail...x
