he is a hypocrite. much like how he favors abstinence only sex education, he is promoting abstinence only aids programs in Africa which trade off with condom distribution as countries align themselves to US policies. even more he is against modifying intellectual property rights to allow the sale and production of generic ARV drugs which can be produced for TONS cheaper. ALso, all G8 nations pledged 60 billion to fight aids, this has been broken. This just seems like empty rhetoric.

HIV is a big problem for many countries of the world. however for Africa is just vital. as far as i know, besides words Bush really did some deeds. it's probably the only issue he was instrumental.

Actually, the work in Africa is one thing that the Bush-Cheney administration did more with than any other issue. His wife Laura & he made some efforts for availability or anti viral drugs. Yes, they did push abstinence on the public agenda. privately, more condoms were sent to Africa
