Yves Gomes's father was deported in 2008 and his mother in 2009, leaving the 17 year-old and his younger brother to live with their great uncle and aunt, Henry and Dominica. In May, Yves graduated high school in Silver Spring, Maryland with honors; now he's set to be deported to India on August 13. Yves has never been to India nor does he speak the language of the West Bengal region where his family is from. He's developed a close relationship with his cousin Harold, the son of Henry and Dominica, who is 32 years old and has muscular dystrophy. Harold uses a wheelchair and needs a tracheostomy and ventilator to assist with his breathing. Harold has taken a lead working with lawyers and doing all he can to fight Yves deportation.

  • freaking immigrants!!!!!!!!

  • There is good and bad in all countries . Its all in the mind to be happy and turn sadness into happiness not matter which part of the planet we are in. I would recommend The Freeconomy Community where all help each other just for the love of it justfortheloveofit dote org . Its moneyless Living . Hope you will keep moving in life cause if you loose something, its ok. but if you loose hopes. you loose everything. Now india is where foreigners come to work and they love india and indians.

  • His deportation is being delayed, but he's still not legal. And that is unlikely to ever happen. So he is in limbo - no legal status and nobody moving to kick him out. Hardly a win.

  • Yves wants to be a doctor. In India there are many medical schools. The entrance exams are held in English. The tuition is about $500 a year. So what is stopping him from going there and becoming a doctor? After all US hospitals are full of Indian doctors, obviously there are many fine medical universities in India.

  • If Yves is forced to leave, we will be saying goodbye to a great American...because that's what he truly is. Interesting how we put down the postal service, the DMV, or a multitude of other government agencies for their total inefficiencies; yet the USCIS gets a pass. This government agency is just as messed up as the rest and true, total, and full reform is needed.

  • in "illegal" immigration, there is no solid black and white. why do people refuse to see this? Yves is NOT at fault for being in America, and he's been here all his life... HE IS AN AMERICAN! He shouldn't be deported to a land, a nation, another country that he has NEVER known...

    We need IMMIGRATION REFORM NOW!!!

  • @PokemonNewsNetworkHD Wow, that wasn't ignorant or rude of you. /endsarscam.

What if you were the one to be deported, when you've lived most of your life in the United States? You're a sad man.
