Dye The Safe Guy here. So you bought your new safe and you're ready to have it delivered. This video is dedicated to showing you what to do once the safe arrives at your home.

What to expect when the safe arrives:
Common over the road carriers will deliver your safe curbside delivery, right at the end of your driveway. Safes that weigh between 150 - 3000 pounds have to be delivered at the curbside. If you want inside delivery, call one of SafeandVaultStores safe consultants and they'll give you a quote for bringing the safe inside your home.

Inspecting your safe for damage:
Hi my name is Dominic Schwebs and I'm with SafeandVaultStore.com and I have many years of receiving safes and warehousing. When your safe arrives, the truck driver will lower it down with the liftgate and it's your job to inspect the safe for any rips, tears, abrasions or scratches to the packaging. If you look at the safe and there is no rips, tears or scratches and it looks good then you will sign the Bill of Lading. A Bill of Lading is a document which transfers the safe into your possession once signed.

As you're inspecting the box and you notice this tear or this scuff, then you want to inspect the safe to look for any scratches or minor dents that can be repaired. You want to notate on the Bill of Lading the damage and make sure to put as much detail as you can in the body of the Bill of Lading.

We recommend that you accept the safe and sign for it if there is only a minor scratch. If you notice that there is a minor scratch, you want to give us a call at SafeandVaultStore.com and we can send you a repair kit or a touch up paint kit to repair the damage.

Keep the packaging materials for inspection in case a freight claim needs to be filed.

If the safe comes looking like this here with the band broken, a huge tear ripped out of it, looks like there may be a big dent and the metal may be impacted and maybe the pallet is badly damaged then you may want to refuse the safe and write REFUSED on the Bill of Lading. If you notice damage like this here, make sure you write in detail the damage such as right corner large dent or scratch and that way when we file a freight claim it will be a lot easier for us to know the damage. Also you want to give us a call at SafeandVaultstore.com and let us know that you are refusing the safe and make sure that you fax us the Bill of Lading so that we can file a freight claim and get you a replacement safe on order.

Only refuse the safe if there is major damage present.

  • Hello, Do you offer installation services and how much will it cost for an average size floor safe.

  • @lsgv100 Thanks for your inquiry. If you go on to our web site, click on Burglar Fire Safes. Select the safe you want. After Shipping and Handling, enter your zip code, then click on the CALCULATE button. Shipping and handling will be computed. Just below that is blue button that says: ADD INSIDE DELIVERY This button will calculate delivery inside your home. Dye the Safe Guy

You need to hire a cement contractor for this. Dye the Safe Guy

  • How often do the safes come scratched, not major damage, but scratched. I'm looking at a smaller safe (Amsec BF1512). If it scratched as shown in the video I would refuse it. Paying $1K for a nice safe I would want a nice safe!

  • Dear husknox1, Thanks for your inquiry. Safes come in with a scratch about 1% of the time. AMSEC packages the BF1512 very well and we rarely see a problem. You can refuse a safe with a minor scratch, however, AMSEC includes a touchup paint kit. Once used on a minor scratch, you can't tell it was there. If you do refuse it, then we can get AMSEC to ship another safe. It will delay your getting the safe by several weeks, since we have to get the scratched safe returned. Dye the Safe Guy

  • Thanks for the info, I'll have a look at your site.

  • Dear Lastchip, Thank you. We have been delivering and installing safes for over 60 years. I can assure you that we are a full service company with many years of experience. Please feel free to call us Monday-Friday after 9:00am if you have any other questions. Sincerely, Dye the Safe Guy

  • @safeandvaultstore Thanks for the info, I'll have a look at your site

  • Dear Lastchip, Thanks for your comment. Just to clarify... this video is to educate our customers on how to "receive their safe". We offer White Glove Inside Delivery for $195 to $295 depending on the weight of the safe. On our site, unlike others, you can have all our safes delivered into the house for an additional cost. Just click on the ADD TO CART button and two questions will appear. Answer these, then your cost for Inside Delivery will appear. Thanks. Dye the Safe Guy

  • Biggest draw back for buying form a company that won't deliver into the house. Drop a 800 pound steel box at the end of your driveway and take off.
