Anchorage's Bird Treatment and Learning Center is well known for helping animals get well and get back into the wild; but recently they were faced with an interesting challenge. They have a peregrine falcon.
I love the part where it says peregrines usually make a catch once every ten tries. Here in Rochester, we have a pair of peregrine falcons (Mariah and Kaver) who have a whopping five ayases consistently year after year. If you google search "Kodak falcons," it will lead you to a site all about them complete with cameras all over the nesting box so people can watch them live in season. Mariah's a terrific hunter. She goes out about 10:00 AM and is back within minutes with a catch.
That's a great story ... thanks for sharing it
