what an enjoyment!

@sheilapatrick1 Absolutely! Dock made me want to pick the banjo, other than Earl Scruggs, and I love his style because you can't really compare it to anybody else.

mr boggs sit on a chair and play... too simple, too "real" and genuine... today many musicians can make elaborated songs with bizarre lyrics, high-cost-guitars and well tuned voices... but nobody seems to be able to make a piece like this!

Gripping music. I can listen to this for hours.
A pity that the Youtube-video with pictures of Kentucky 1964 (music: Dock Boggs-Calvary) has been removed. That made both the pictures and the music ever more impressive.

Thanks for posting. This is so pure,,it's surreal.

Oh, it bowed down my heart And the teardrops will start, When in memory all the grey hill I see; For 'twas there on its side Jesus suffered and died, To redeem a poor sinner like me. Behold, faint on the road, 'Neath the world's heavy load, Comes a thorn-crowned man on the way; With a cross, he is bowed, But still on through the crowd, He's ascending that hill lone and grey.

man this guy is amazing
his music is just so haunting

There's a hill lone and grey
In a land far away,
In a country beyond the blue sea;
Where beneath that fair sky,
Went a man forth to die,
For the world and for you and for me.
