Let me express my astonishment for this extraordinary performance of the 2nd Bartok' s.
I don't know who You are as single players or as ensemble; besides I come from a town which gave and continues giving many music talents every year.But your performance of all the second Bartok str. quart. is among the historical ones and maybe better than the historical recordings.I have no prejudice of race, school, education but the Beauty You gave to the humanity with your performance is of everybody.

The CD is "Bartok: Die Streich Quartette" and for some reason it seems to me like the music and this video are not the same...

@petermezo Bartok went to north Africa to learn and collect arabic music and he was very much influenced by it. I lnow that is no notation for that part that I mentioned, but keep in mind that is impossible to notate folk technique in any instrument. that kind of playing you don't read it, you just feel it. I'm not a violinist, but I think that part should be played all slide with the index finger kinda like sitar technique, not underlinening all the notes in a westerner fashion.

No, it's our version. We played on our cellist's diploma. If you watch on Mac/Safari you should switch off hardware acceleration and reload the page. Maybe other browsers make the same problem. On my Mac it is unwatchable with hardware acc.
