Cats and Sharks: Al learns of Bert's financial problems, but thinks he may be able to help out. PC Penhale is on the trail of a vandal. Tensions between the Doc and Louisa continue to mount, and matters aren't helped when Eleanor decides to hire a local girl to look after the baby.

Ever After: A flu bug hits the school, forcing Louisa to recruit Bert and Al to cook the lunches and to ask the Doc to look after the baby. Mrs Tishell's husband returns and announces that he wants to retire to spend more time with her and this, combined with her self-medication, convinces her that the time is right to take what she sees as her rightful place in the Doc's life.
