Modification of Mossberg 22lr with Airsoft Stock

Just a note: I had one idiot complain that airsoft guns would be banned because of this type of conversion. That is foolish. An airsoft gun cannot be converted to fire live ammunition, rather it requires the purchase of a real firearm and the complete removal of all of the airsoft's internal mechanics to make room for the real firearm. The remaining airsoft parts are use purely as a outer cosmetic to change the appearance of the .22cal firearm.

Mossberg makes a 25rnd mag for their new AR style tactical .22.

I ordered a couple of these and hopefully I will be able to rework these to fit into the shell of a g36 mag.

And no I'm not an engineer.

Can this be done with a 10/22 receiver? I'd prefer to go that route instead of another model .22LR simply because of the availability of high capacity magazines for the 10/22; I could deal with the mag hanging out without a cover, as that seems a fair trade off for the extra 15 rounds I'd get.

It has been done but personally I don't care for the look of the results. The 10-22 receiver is much wider and and it does not lend it self to as clean a conversion IMHO. Google around and look at the results and see it you like them. I don't that is why I went with this gun.

If anyone proposes banning airsoft guns because of what I've done here or believe this will cause airsoft to be banned is just flat out out ignorant of how firearms work and how airsoft guns work. One cannot be converted to the other. The modification only uses the cosmetic airsoft shell to cover the legal firearm to change it's appearance.

@mattman704 I've seen the airsoft mags hollowed out to fit the .22 mags inside them. Maybe something to look into? I agree, google around.
