  • @ILLRICARDO I think the canon would be a good choice. Personally. I like the look of Pentax lenses over pretty much anything. And for the most part. They are affordable and, from a film and video aspect, the old manual lenses are of much higher build quality. Seeing as the focus rings are more tight. Making manual focus much easier.

  • @Richpence i am pretty much in the same boat, if i sell, my pentax k-r and lenses i have accquired, i will not be able to afford any more lenses for quite a while, may be a year or two, but i feel that it is a good investment ....still thinking though which one to go for nex 5 or 600d... , the pentax k-r would have been perfect if it had a higher resolution and better video options.. there is a new pentax coming out, Pentax K-01 which has better stats, similar to the nex 5

  • @Richpence i think i made up my mind bro i have tested the pentax k-r day and night both video and photo just seem okay...there is a lot of artefacting in the video which is very noticable when panning... might go for the cannon 600d...

  • @ILLRICARDO I personally would not go with the Nex 5n. The complete lack of a real viewfinder, a big sensor, and no good glass means that the video will look no better than my iPhone. And I don't know if you'd have enough money to buy the 600d after selling a second hand camera. A flippy-tilty screen isn't all that important in my style of filming. And you would also have to save up for some decent glass. Considering that their 50mm f1.4 is almost 400 bucks. If you've got the cash. I think the

  • @Richpence the downside to the nex-5 is that that lenses cost a bomb...expensive as hell... ut having tested the camera in the shop... the video is way better than the pentax kr,kx and the nikon d3100..... there are a few short films on line...do a search for "Soccer Girl- A Sony Nex-5 short film "

  • @Richpence the video on the nex 5 is quite amazing!!

  • @ILLRICARDO what kind of videos are you planning on making?

  • @ILLRICARDO the video looks better on the Nex 5 because the Nex 5 has a higher resolution screen on the camera. thus, the video looks sharper on the camera, but not nessisarily on the coputer. and if your worried about only having 720p, theres no need to be. i play my short films on my big 60 inch hd tv and it looks crystal clear. if you doubt the quality of the kx, go look at my featured video. or any of my newer videos. the quality is very good because i use the right lenses.

  • @ILLRICARDO if your set on selling your k-r, you better do it as soon as possible. as the value of camera bodies drops very quickly. but, i think you should hang on to the k-r, if its anything like my kx it should work great. i watched the soccer girl video, and to be honest i wasent very impressed. espically considering that they are shooting in bright daylight, so noise isnt remotely a factor. also, they are using very expensive lenses and glide cams that are about 10,000 bucks.

  • @Richpence thanks for the info bro... somewhat considering selling the camera and getting a eos 600d or sony nex5n.....the option of having better video and the flip out screen seems better!!
