This was the first time I tested my highbanker that I made. Went out and ran a couple of 5gal buckets and came up with a few flakes. I had a good time, and even though I'm happy with the retention, I'm already working on a more compact version. Hope to have it ready to try again next week.

  • Cool! how did you make it?

  • With wood. :) It's been a big pain in the ass. Been working on that thing starting last winter and it's still not done. Aside from the weight issue, I think it worked the best the way it was in this video.

  • just a quick question? which state are you prospecting for gold in, is it california or oregon. thanks.

  • Oregon

  • "That is my spot, why, I have no idea"

Why not. Any spot that has color is good enough reason...

    Keep digging!

  • Music too loud... couldnt understand what you were sayin at the end. :( Nice job on the highbanker though!

  • Man get yourself way more layflat hose and take the high banker to the dirt you want to dig!! I run up to 100 yds of hose sometimes !! beats carring those buckets . Well done on the build there are a few things you will learn but keep up the good work!

  • Nice idea, looks like it works great. i built mine out of a canoe. take a look if u get the chance.

  • I think I might rent a highbanker this weekend...then I'll decide if I really want one. Good job you did...

  • Nice job on the build. Great work!

  • @tangibleinspiration ....Building anything like that is a pain in the ass, looks good though....

  • Nice highbanker, but geez you're making it hard on yourself. It's a lot easier if you use a longer delivery hose, put the highbanker in front of where you want to dig & shovel straight from the hole into the top hopper. That's how we do it here in Oz, & it saves time & energy. Imagine how many shovel loads you could put through in the time it takes you to lug the bucket to the sluice, empty it & walk back to the hole. Just a thought. :) Plus your back wouldn't be half as sore.

  • I loved your highbanker. I like making my own mining equipment also. It looks like you got a big enoung pump to work your operation. Keep on mining!!!
