@moshenuri let him down, it's only a sonorisation problem! Some always looking for the smallest worry!
Zarb and tombak (or tumbek etc...) is the same instrument, but not the same langage, don't remember which is farsi, which is not!

isn't tombak?? what's the difference?

Kevan, you make me proud as an Iranian with your beautiful art. Thanks for sharing.

you1tube, you are "disgusted"... the adjective is particulary strong about the oldest tradtion of tombak in Iran. K.Chemirani is Djamshid Chemirani's son, which was the first and the best pupil of Hossein Teherani. You talk about pedram khavar who is a bahman Rajabi's pupil. on your advice, i've listened him. I didn't enjoy, it's very impressive technically, of course, but very noisy, boring, and much less melodic than Chemirani.
i say that if u add at least one instrument like zurna or klarinet u will not heare nothing of this finghers

zarb is a persian instrument. they use it with more other delicate instruments like Setar, Kamanche, Tar. you can search in Youtube. Zarb and Zurna is not good combination. :-). any way, tody, if you want, you can play the zarb with any other instument if you have good amplification equipment. see how Zakir Hussain Play with his very delicate fingers technique with John McLaughlin's elctric guitar in Remember Shakti.
all the best
