I heard them at Michael's in the seventies.....
-
@improvsax me, too; awesome stuff. bought the vinyl back then; now, long gone that record.
-
I used to go see them at the Willow on Wednesdays. Fantastic!
Around '83 or so.

Fabulous improvisational trio.
Fluid, dynamic, imaginative and interminably musical.
-
George was my teacher for one year at NEC. I learned a lot, even when he talked about marriage, divorce, and sex.

What can you say.. unspeakably amazing.

John Lockwood. One of the most underrated bass players alive. Folks rave about Holland. Listen to Lockwoods intonation and tone.....impeccable. If you don't know better you think he's playing a tempered intrument.

Mike Mainieri is quoted saying it is what Brecker said to him ... Like you said, doesn't really matter ...
The version I heard- Brecker was asked "how does it feel to be the greatest sax player in the world- and he replied "I don't know you better ask Bergonzi".

@moffat691 It has been substantiated by others that he made the statement about both. Hey, Brecker knew what he was talking about :)
