  • ok..right...its only decent i give an update...

the box has been working perfectly for months, no heat issues, actually installed a wireless card, and had only the power cable going in.

about a month ago, i dismantled it, as im actually working on a new project now...

so hopefully ull see some more videoes form me soon...

    subscribe if you wish :-)

  • possibly one of the coolest things i,ve ever seen whats the size of the drive and what do you use it for?

so how the hell did you make it? did you just set it up in the drawer then remove the monitor keyboard and mouse cd drive etc ?

    thats super cool

  • i use it for all types of stuff..dedicated torrenting, file storage...video rendering..anyhing i really need to do..

r precicly correct, install it with the cdrom, and remove it and the monitor

  • Socket 7?!? Holy hardware, Batman! Talk about legacy. Of course, Linux will run on anything bigger than a four function calculator, so...

    Job well done.

  • thankx man...appreciate it

  • I remember when the government bought a 14,000 pentium III cluster to calculate the half life of shelved nuclear weapons. This was back in 92. the heat must have been insane.

  • lol...the heat?

  • Amazing what you can do with what people throw out really. Once i managed to get my hands on a pentium 3. Works wonders really. Do you have any trouble with CPU heat when the drawer is closed? or maybe you have some sort of ventilation at the back.

  • how hot do you thing this same thing would get with an 5level drawer cabinet running 5 drawer servers at 500mhz each? its an cool idea :D

  • the how to's are not up as yet

theres a forum, i want to finish setting it up and documenting the system by today, hopefully. sorry about that tho.
