Youtube seems to have messed up the quality of the original video, so I've uploaded it again, with another 0-70 at the end.

This is a stock 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's rear-wheel-drive only. It's got the 4.7L V8, 235hp, 295ft/lb torque.

The 0-60mph (0-100km/h) I got is 7.5sec, and I'm pretty sure the crazy wheelspin in the beggining (tires were going bald) hurt my time.

The video actually shows 0-70mph with a lot of wheelspin. Any suggestions welcome, and sorry for the crappy quality. It was recorded on a 1.3 megapixel Sony Ericsson K510 ... it won't do wonders.

  • Interesting that a 4.7litre V8 engine only produces 30BHP more then a my MK4 golf 1.9 V4 TDI engine. I would have thought something like this was pushing well over 350BHP.

  • @CubeLuda What are you talking about, your TDI engine produces 100hp less than this V8 engine ... 235bhp vs 130bhp

  • @phsouzabr

?? I have a PD150 = 150BHP. I got it remapped to 190BHP, and added in a new Turbo, pistons etc and now it produces 202BHP.

  • @CubeLuda You're trying to compare a modded engine against a stock engine ... If I mod this Jeep engine, it will easily produce over 400bhp ...

  • Nice video even though the quality isn't that good. I have a 4.0 straight 6 Jeep WJ & mine is pretty swift too.

  • Well, considering it was recorded using a 1.3 megapixel cellphone, i think it looks just fine ... lol.

Anyway, it really IS amazing how quick these cars are, for their size and weight. Jeep rules!

  • i love my 02 jeep but it wastes gas like a bitch

  • @CubeLuda you dont know anythig about torque ! and you r fucking vw engine will fuck up soon by forcing it with new turbo pistons ,etc ! so dont talk bull shit

  • considering all things this engine has poor hp per liter even torque per liter. But its still a v8 which will respond well to mods. Still I would never touch one of these even if it was modded. Id take a 5.0 mustang if I wanted a v8

  • @CubeLuda im only pushing 210 horsepower in my v8. but how much torque do you have? i have 300 stock. mines not even stock anymore

  • @CubeLuda You may very well be the dumbest person on the internet. Not only did you say you have a V4 which does not exist, but you also tried comparing your modded INLINE 4 to a stock V8. As you were told, if modded these V8's could easily break the 400 HP mark. Please do not reproduce.

  • i was rdy to yell wtf burnout??

.so then i read rear-wheel-drive only.

  • @PWRofDiesel I have a the same jeep as this guy and if I stay out of it I can get ~18 in the city and up to ~23 on the freeway(at 70+ mph)

  • @CubeLuda is bhp bullhorsepower? lol jkjkjkjkjkjk

  • I've driven a Dakota with the 4.7 and it gets up and goes too, if Jeep had put a 5 speed in the GC with a V8 I'd probably own one instead of a wrangler, Check out my video of it I just uploaded today.

  • what kind of fuel economy do you get? (when not driving like this lol). your jeep sounds awesome btw
