Good video. Wrights perspective is certainly intriguing - refreshing even, albeit a bit slippery in the post-modern direction at certain points.

Never knew he's debated WLC before either. Ironic this being uploaded by drcraigvideos. ;)

@ScottyVOR Yeah, I know. I'll be uploading videos by theologians and philosophers who don't necessarily agree with one another. I know that JP Moreland and Craig disagree with one another on some theological points. Nevertheless, they're great thinkers.

@ElAleman1234 This was my understanding of Craig as well. It seems to me less that he and Wright really disagree so much as are using different methods to accomplish different (but complimentary) goals.

@rfvidz Friends in the theological world often disagree. N.T. Wright did his graduate work with D.A. Carson and they disagree on justification.

@ubi2002 Don't all biblical scholars disagree with every other biblical scholar in at least one thing in a category of systematic theology?

@ubi2002 He is an academic in his training and his day to day job. That means he functions by constructively criticising arguments and intellectual structures, whether they are they his, his friends or his opponents. He'll 'argue', then adjust his arguments the next time around where he will admit to himself that his opponent had a point.

To be fair: WLC never argues, that you must believe. He just wants Christianity to be viable option for reasonable People.

He also never claims, that his arguments lead to believe, but rather he states, that they make room for the holy spirit. At least so i understood him.

@rfvidz It is possible to have intramural disagreements amongst christian brothers. Even though most in the church do not act in such a way.

I appreciate NT Wright's contribution to the Evangelical world--namely, the historicity & validity of Jesus' life, ministry, death & resurrection. I'm not sold on his idea of justification & nor am I a Calvinist or John Piper fanatic. However, as a novice philosopher I wonder how Craig would respond bc it seems painfully clear Wright appeals to "modernist methodology" when he writes his books DEFENDING Christ & then deconstructs/self-refutes his most prominent works in this lecture & others...
