In 2010 Simerlab's American distributor Fascinations Inc. admitted in court that their Levitron product infringed our Gravitron patent. We will continue to vigorously enforce our patent rights. We currently have two U.S. patents and about 30 foreign patents pending.

We also have many other licensing and manufacturing initiatives in the works for 2012. To be notified when new products are available, just sign up for our email updates on our website at http://www.levitationarts.com.

  • what's in the box? 4 electromagnets?

  • @DanFrederiksen It is an arrangement of magnets - which may be all electromagnets or a combination of permanent magnets and electromagnets. Most of the units shown in the video used 4 permanent magnets and two copper coils. Also "in the box" is a sensor, a feedback control circuit and a power source - such as a battery.

  • could it be made to look like the thing that hold unubtaneume from avatar

  • @brandonhughes7 Yes, exactly like the thing on the character Parker Selfridge's desk.

  • @Ints12345 Interestingly enough, while magnets are used all around us every day, a complete understanding of magnets at the most fundamental level is still a mystery. But for an excellent layman's explanation of what is known, you can do a Google search for "How do magnets work?" and read the first entry at the site of "Cool Magnet Man".

  • nice technology consider using this technology for medical applications, maybe for stuff like unblocking arteries or sending microcameras through small openings and powered by the magnetic field thats levitating it in the first place, just a passing thought .

  • BURN THE WITCH!!!

  • Cute toy.

  • 3:31 just something directly out of some science fiction novel

  • @losthaze To learn more about the "diamagnetic" properties of everything, you can do a Google search for the phrase "The Frog That Learned To Fly", which will lead you to a website showcasing the groundbreaking work of Nobel prize winner Andre Geim in the levitation of living creatures, pieces of fruit, drops of water, etc.

  • @Ints12345 believe it or not everything is magnetic to some degree. however it's only to a noticeable degree in certain materials

  • i gotta admit thats pretty kick ass

  • I so want a staff with a crystal floating over the end of it.
