As the spiritual successor to BioWare's Baldur's Gate™, one of the most successful role-playing games in the industry, Dragon Age: Origins represents BioWare's return to its roots, delivering a fusion of the best elements of existing fantasy works with stunning visuals, emotionally-driven narrative, heart-pounding combat, powerful magic abilities and credible digital actors. The spirit of classic RPGs comes of age, as Dragon Age: Origins features a dark and mature story and gameplay. * Epic Party-Based Combat -- Dragon Age: Origins will introduce an innovative, scalable combat system, as players face large-scale battles and use their party's special abilities to destroy hoardes of enemies and massive creatures. * Powerful Magic -- Raining down awesome destruction on enemies is even more compelling as players apply "spell combos," a way of combining together different spells to create emergent unique effects. * Deep Customization -- Players will develop their characters and gain powerful special abilities (spells, talents and skills) and discover ever-increasing weapons of destruction. * Your Story, Your Way -- With its emotionally compelling story, players choose with whom they wish to forge alliances or crush under their mighty fist, redefining the world with the choices they make and how they wield their power. * Origin Stories -- Players will select and play a unique prelude that provides the lens through which the player sees the world and how the world sees the player. The player's choice of Origin will determine who they are and where they begin the adventure, as they play through a customized story opening that profoundly impacts the course of every adventure.

  • Are you retarded? this is the farthest thing from a JRPG..This is the definition of a Western RPG, a JRPG would be like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, i swear some people on youtube are so stupid

  • yes, because BG was all about the graphics. oh and its "Baldur's Gate".

    I have faith in Bioware.

  • @Introtoobsession true but the action slow based realtime combat defines western. J-RPG's that are action real time usually have fast paste combat with a variety of flashing lights and talking while fighting. I just came discovered some European RPG's and they're pretty much similar to American, now I know why they say Western and European style ><. The games I speak of are Numen and Drakensang.

  • Great game, waaay long though i played for like 14 hours and barley hit 5% completed

  • No you dont HAVE to control the team.. You can just play your guy.. But you can control the team.

  • Oblivion is a wreck compared to DAO.

And DAO is not as good compared to Baldur's Gate. Which makes Oblivion crap.

  • wait so this is not a 3rd person hero game...like do you have to control a team?

fuck...i knew it was too good to be true.

they shoud have made it like an oblivion kind of game.

  • then u should try age of conan :O

  • worksa7 the xbox one has the pause function to same games different consoles

  • Guess that guy was just lucky to have his head choped off...otherwise it seems he would have an arrow sticked to it.

Mixed feelings about this one...it seems nice to play, but feels like it gets really boring after a few hours. Take a look at some videos and you will see the same 2 or 3 battle moves repeating all over. Closing comment, I hope the game can deliver more than the videos are showing. Guess the only thing left now is to wait. Looking forward to this one though...

  • OMGHEJUSTCHOPPEDTHATGUY'SHEADOFF haha this game looks like a masterpiece

  • you must also be retarded. Im certain you never played any of the Baldurs Games. I bet you were still using training wheels on your bike when it first came out... anyway, how can you comment on something you know nothing about? the pause system is the main aspect of the whole game. its been built around the idea of pause and play. Baldurs Gate even had pre sets where the game would automaticaly stop under certain conditions so you could take the proper action
