From the world famous Cavern club where the Merseybeat sound started a revolution in music and the 60's, across the city with it's two cathedrals or over the water to New Brighton, this is just a snap shot of those times!

  • When I was in the U.S. Navy, I saw The Beatles in Hamburg, Germany in 1962, then again in 1963 in Liverpool. We had taken President Kennedy's two Marine 1 helicpotors to Europe when he spoke at the Berlin wall in 1963, and stopped in Liverpool, and some of us went to The Cavern, and lo and behold, the boys were there! Some of the best, and greatest memories of my 66 years on earth. Loved Liverpool! Been wanting to go back as a civilian ever since. AND...my last name is McCartney! :D)

  • Bally was the main man for England and on Merseyside back in the day.

  • Liverpool is the people that live there. Enough said.

  • i can smell bullshit

  • On first seeing The Beatles (Part 2).

The repetoir? Elvis songs, Larry Williams, Carl Perkins, The Coasters, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Little Richard and all the others, Spellbinding stuff. Paul playing an unconnected rhythm guitar, Stuart on Bass, they shook the foundations of St. John’s Hall and the very souls of those of us there to witness, on a cold Friday in Bootle, the real beginning of what was to become the greatest phenomena in the history of popular music.

  • They say The Cavern was where the amazing Beatles thing all began but I recall seeing them performing at several Merseyside venues prior to ‘ending up’ at The Cavern before the records brought them universal success. 1961, I saw The Beatles at Litherland Town Hall, Aintree Institute, The Lathom in Seaforth, Alexander Hall in Crosby, Hambledon Hall and Blair Hall. But it was Friday 6th January in 1961 when, at St. John’s Hall, when I first saw The (five) Beatles perform.

  • FABULOUS, THANKS FOR ALL THIS

  • WHO SINGS THIS VERSION, PLEASE? ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL? IT'S EVEN BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL BEATLE VERSION!

  • @mpm111144 U.S and thanks you too!

  • @Iluvthebeatles9 From where? Liverpool, or the U.S.? Either way, you have great taste in music. :D)
