Jody lives in her car, while her 19-year-old son Phillip lives in a shelter in St. Paul, Minnesota. After being unfairly evicted from her apartment, she sold all she had to buy a car to live in.
As I was giving out socks, Phillip approached me. His shoes have holes all the way through, so he is unable keep his socks from wearing out. Thats how I entered into my conversation with these two. Thanks to Hanes I was able to help with much-needed socks
Their three wishes are simple—an apartment, a job, and car repairs.
We dont often consider that the face of homelessness starts young. I hope to meet Phillip again one day with a story of success and victory rather than perpetual homelessness.
God bless

I'm sure what happened is she was receiving disability for her child and once he hit 18 it ended and it was all down hill from there. He should be on his own disability now and rightfuly so but I would guess he is being jacked around by the system as most disabled folks are. I hope him and his mother pull through this and can continue to help one another.

@DeutscheGesinnung
Your an ignoramous, you have no idea what these people go through. Just getting a job to get a room can seem almost impossible.

She should had gotten her money back from that crook that took her money! I hope that her son will go to college as higher education is the way out of poverty. Family needs to assist their loved ones that are out of work and homeless. I had to return home to my mother after getting laid off.

@9695jp well.. iam glad you realize you are fortunate.... to be honest with you .. these people, although don't have a home or any money... but they are still doing very well ... health condition.. because of the modern world..... if this was in 12th century?.. all of the homeless would have been dead... from murder... diseases.. and hunger...
