  • The pening says we gathered for a reunion. It was the General Assembly please refer to it as what it was and is the General Assembly of the Great Church of God.

  • @fo45429 I referred to the General Assembly as a family reunion. This year the Church of God of Prophecy and many others had General Assemblies. None even came close to the majesty of the General Assemblies of the Church back them. We was family. We would rush to greet or Brothers and sisters in the family of God. God was very real to all of us. So I still feel like it was a family reunion with our Heavenly Father and Brothers and Sisters. Not just another General Assembly.

  • What happened to the Church!??? I was born and raised in the Church (1960). Riverside, Calif. My mother was also (1941). I strayed and long to find a church that teaches the old ways. 29 teachings, using the New Testament a their rule of faith, rightly dividing the truth. Where are you old church of the bible??

  • We are holy because of Christ....(more continued in next post). Sanctification is growing in our understanding of our own sinfulness and the glorious righteousness of Jesus Christ! The person who love Jesus Christ will follow him and grow and mature; but he will never become perfect this side of heaven. Only till we see Jesus will be be like him (1 John 3:2-3; Romans 7:7-25).

  • Also, when it comes to holiness and how we should live for God, we must understand clearly what the Word of God teaches. We must not impose our on culture or preferences on God's Word. You can't make a "list" (29 teachings) long enough to cover every evil. Even the very thought of evil is sin (Gen. 6:5; Matt. 15:19)! Moreover, if we say we (Christians) have no sin, we make God a liar (1 John 1:10) We are holy because of Christ....(more continued in next post)

  • This is a sad display of how people with good intentions can be led astray. The general assembly and the whole development of the the Church of God (COGOP / the COG) clearly reveals a wrong view of church government and the appointment of leaders in the church. There is no place in scripture where we are instructed to appoint men called into church leadership through the speaking of tongues. We have instruction in scripture on how it is to be done (1Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9)

  • @HolyGhostFilled1987 Thank God for a few godly folks that haven't bowed their knees to Baal! I'm truly thankful for folks like you! Keep standing strong!
