The tune is "Hector the Hero" originally a fiddle tune composed by J. Scott Skinner to commemorate a gallant soldier in the late 1800s who was driven to suicide due to allegations that he was homosexual. Whether true or not, he was a hero of the realm and thousands turned out for his funeral.

Yes, this melody seems to capture much and is the one I heard in a cemetary in Vermont on a cloudy day...a solo bagpiper sent down from heaven...to so many places!

That sounds like a profoundly stirring experience! wow! gives me goose pimples to think fo this melody being played in a cemetary on a cloudy day! It certainly is surreal..like a message from the heavens!
