This video captures part of the Inaugural Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce Gala, The SAGE awards: Scranton Awards for Growth & Excellence. The event was held on November 11, 2010, at the Mellow Theater in Lackawanna College, Scranton, PA.

The Master of Ceremonies was a Scranton native, Chris Barnes, a professional writer, actor and comedian. Barnes has worked for MTV, Saturday Night Live and Comedy Central, among others. He has appeared in several television sit-coms including Who's the Boss, the Carol Burnett Show, Seinfeld, According to Jim and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Most notably, Barnes starred on ABC's hit comedy Life With Bonnie. When he's not filming, Barnes teaches at his Comedy Dojo Improv schools in Santa Monica, CA and Stroudsburg, PA. Currently, Barnes is working on the daytime soap opera, "One Life to Live."

WKRZ's own "Mr. Manly" was on the Red Carpet greeting the Finalists as they arrived in Limousines provided by Nasser Limo, as well as the other guests who came to participate in the Black Tie Optional event. Catering for parties before and after the awards was provided by Stirna's of Scranton. The event was captured for the Web by Shuta Multimedia.

In this particular video, we see the begining of the awards ceremony, with Welcome Remarks by Philip Condron, Acting President of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, and Natalie O'Hara, President of MetroAction. The Honorable Austin Burke, who is on leave as President of the Chamber of Commerce as he is currently serving in Harrisburgh as Secratary for the Department of Community and Economic Develoment, was asked to stand and be recognized. A moment was also taken to recognize all the veterans in the audience, as November 11 is Veteran's Day.
