What product did you use here? Where can it be found? Was it a commercial pesticide or did you find just "diluted permethrin"? The reason being commercial pesticide may be dangerous to soak your clothes in (despite permethrin as the main ingredient.)

So, it is now December. I see you did the deed... did it work? I am going on an Appalachian Trail hike and my main concern is ticks & mosquitos. Do you recommend someone doing what you did?
