I know this reality very well- I grew up in the Jewish-Orthodox world. From my experience, the more modern Otrhodox do learn the Talmud fully aware to the modern world (don't forget, the talmud has encourged widespread literature, which continues till this very day, and changed with the time). saddly, I do know people who'd still follow the Talmud without questioning it, as you discribe. They are doing a mistake, even from a Jewish prespective. But I think that they are the majority.

Thats all good and fine, except in the year 2013 some Jewish people closely follow the advice and rules of the talmud in their dealings, thoughts, and attitudes towards non-Jews. It doesn't make how ignorant the world was that long ago, the fact is today in modern times there shouldn't be thoughts like that

No, it talks about Jewish law and Jewish thought, and among the question they deal with this questios. Of course, the Talmud's additude toward these issues seems quite shoking in our days, but don't forget that in the time Talmud was written- almost 2000 years ago- people all over the world married at the age of 12 and slaughtered people just for belonging to another nation; If you'd actually know Talmud you'd know that the Talmud Rabbis were quite modern for their time.
