  • thats a epic video man keep these up ima huge NS fan!

  • Ha Ha, its all nice quiet calm. and then rererereVVRRRRROOOOM! Excellent vid!

  • love start sound love

  • @DaMastaOfRoad That the engine chuck Norris has on his car

  • @Eggrollfaceass Just isane. I thought thought that a higher voltage was used to get current draw down becase it had to be freaking huge at start even at 64V but thick copper bars would handle that though.

  • @dtiydr there are 8 four cell batteries, totaling 64 volts. the low voltage system on a locomotive runs at 74 volts to charge the batteries. All electric start EMDs have 2 separate 30 volt electric starters weighing about 80 pounds each connected in series with the batteries on cranking. I forget the weight of the batteries, but I know we change them with electric hoists and position them with pry bars.

  • @BudmanPackfan the newest sd-70m-2 engines are air start. the older emd switchers were generator start

  • What I would also like to see is starting and going!

  • Man sexy sound

  • @GordonFreemanD40 the newer EMDs are electric start... Alcos and earlier model EMDs were air start.
