This is a song called Ridin' High by the NWOBHM band Persian Risk. This was an early single done by the band released in 1983 on Neat Records. They would not release an album until 1986 when they released Rise Up.

  • What is NWOBHM mean?

  • It means New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The NWOBHM was basically the beginnig of heavy metal which started in the early 80's but it soon faded out. The only big bands that made it out of the NWOBHM are Iron Maiden, Def Lepard, Saxon, and a few others.

  • for anyone who doesnt know, Phil Campbel (Motorhead) plays guitar on this song, in fact i beilive he plays on the whole album they did. still fuckin awesome band

  • I did not know this. Awesome fact.

  • One of the best vocalists to come out of the NWOBHM. Thank you for posting this. I have "Rise Up", but neither this nor "5000 Stallions" are on it. Please post more of their rarities, as I'd like to hear everything they've done.

  • I agree this song is amazing, unfortunately this is the only song I have from Persian Risk at the moment. I will have to convert my Persian Risk record to cd which will take some time, but in the mean time check out a band called Saracen. I have one of their video's posted I think you will like them as well.

  • @TemplarsVision Praying Mantis dude, sounds extremely similar. Praying Mantis is awesome! My favorite band is Saxon!

  • @TemplarsVision love live the new wave of british heavy metal, post sabbath bands from england. Best Genre in the world

  • @TemplarsVision hate so seem like a know it all on these things, but it was in mid to late 70's ^.^ with bands like maiden, priest, budgie (believe it or not) and samson XD

  • Reminds me a bit of the Grvave digger cover for stronger than ever

  • @TemplarsVision late 70s

  • I had it in a N.W.O.B.H.M collection many years ago. Thanks for the upload.

  • @pillarmusicrocks Chances are they called themselves Persian Risk because the Iranian (Islamic) Revolution under Khomeini took place in '79, the same year the band was formed. Iran was seen as a danger to the West at the time considering what took place then with the hostage taking at the US embassy, etc.. The name Persian Risk would certainly express that sentiment.

  • @TemplarsVision Saracen is good, but Cloven Hoof is a good faveourite of mine!
