women can still vault pretty high, but they tend to focus more on finesse in the plant and run up where most men have a good not amazing run up, but they have the brute strength that women dont have to push themselves off the pole over the bar

@10theoneandonly10 I agree, look at Isinbayeva, her plant is NOT as good as most of the elite men. She just doesn't have the strength to hold strong pressure with the bottom hand, and most women don't for that matter. They also can't get the vertical lift off the ground that men can which hurts their take off further.

women vaulting is one of the many perks of this sport if you don't like to watch hot chicks hop on poles something is wrong with you =)

I'm a high school vaulter and one of my friends at my school brought the connecticut state record last year

I wish i started pole vaulting my freshmen year. Im a senior in highschool now and its my first year in track. On my very first meet I cleared 10' and made districts. All of these jumps are just amazing.

I really don't care to watch woman vault to be honest, and no a woman's plant is not better just throwing it out there.

depends on the college i got into penn at 15 6 outta high school

well it depends on what kind of school.. if your thinking like maybe a community college 12 to 13 or a bigger school like a university you should be getting around 16

not really.
Most women have a better plant but thats all.
Women are technically not very good at the pull turn or getting completley inverted- unless we're talking about those russian gymnists.
Basically- only the elite women have very good form. Not to say that women can't vault because 5m is the womens world record and thats pretty damn high.
