my take on the film. *no copyright infringement intended, all clips/sound bites belong to retrospective owners and were just used for review purposes only*
I think I actually forgot to mention it was a POV shot, but I only picked up on it as I re-watched the opening again. I think the flick is open to many interpretations and thats why it's so awesome, and I defo need to watch it agian.
Nice seeing you brought up that scene where it's the POV shot going into the pillow. I take that as her suicide(at the end) or the death of her innocence/old self. Also, like you said, it could be as simple as she begins to dream. This is why the film is so f'n brilliant. I could talk about every minute of this film cause I see the "big" picture, if you will, at this point. Repeat viewings are very, very necessary but also give you even more interpretations to work with.
I actually watched Blue Velvet yesterday and started on Inland Empire but didn't get to finish it, both very good though. You no I never thought about that but I guess it's a possibility.
i urrge you to search 'mulholland drive explanation/analysis' either or both, and read a few because some explain it impeccably.
