it is a tax to punish the poor because a lot of unhealthy foods are cheap and the only thing the poor class can attain for their diet. the poor are the only ones that will be hurt by the fast food tax. McDonalds has the dollar menu. Crappy, but cheap food. Those dollar king size candy bars. A lot of healthy food is unaffordable to the poor class and now even the shrinking middle class. Just think about it.

Here we go again! Corprations like McDonalds and other fast food places didn't have to be on every corner! America was healthier without the fast food chains! We ate at home and didn't have obesity problems. What are they going to do with poor people who can't afford much more than potatoes, biscuits and gravy to fill them up?

its not tax fat people.........its taxing the fatty foods. Not taxing the producers because those are job producers as well. All junk food should come with higher tax. Basically anyone who buys junk food will just pay a higher price than now. Like 7 cents more. If we charge 1 penny of tax, it will generate more than 3.5 million year. We can do a lot with that money.
Junk food is bad for evryones health! Not just the fat people.

Good video. NY State governor Patterson has offered the idea of a "fat tax" on drinks with sugar (mainly pop). The legislation of this would give the government a green light to tax foods with high sugar content, foods with high cholesterol, with high calories, and the list goes on. Obesity is a problem and childhood obesity bothers me more than any other social issue. Parents should be held responsible for the health of their children, not the government.
