absolutely devestating, even back inthe 80's his playing kills so-called guitar greats of today.

Yes that' Al Howe doing his best DLR inpersonation! Still cool to see Greg in formative years! I met Greg at a guitar clinic at the Alanta Muscians Institute around this time he was playing tunes off his first solo record and tearin' it up!

@TheFigueroa007 It was so ridiculously long ago, It was more about different soloing techniques then anything else,as that was what I was focused on at that time. He is a super nice guy, and recently reconnected with him and his management in a business partnership. I was a lucky kid, I took private lessons with Greg, Stephen Ross (For a LONG time) and John Petrucci.I still play, if you are interested check out my youtube page.

@misterreality Dude, what kind of things did he teach you? Did you work on sweeps, scales, improvisation, or was he more about learning all the chord inversions?

I think Greg realized or he knew all along, his playing is too good to muddle up with singing. Too humble, too polite, too kind & too generous w/ his time & talent. Also
way under-rated & under paid so he had to play for over-rated over paid artists to
pay the bills. Totally understandable.

this reminds me of racer x early years..

this was a good album...as close to early Van Halen as anyone I've ever heard, except Greg is a much better guitarist than EVH (imo)
-
It's the first time i listen to Greg playin' heavy metal

@oboerne I have'nt seen Al in about 13-14 years..And when I was with Greg a few years back when he still lived on the east coast he was'nt even hearing from AL,which he said does'nt mean good things..Al was Kool...
