Imagine a spiral being the visual representation of the exponential growth. Just remember, though, humans were the ones that created the technology that might "emulate" human thought. We'll always be one step ahead of the game - computers can't reproduce on their own, and they're still completely dependent on us to function.

Agree with you about the awesome power of technology. I mean there you are is snowy Canada making this vid. It's immediately commented on by an Englishman, a Slovenian and a New Zealander. Got to keep reminding ourselves how extraordinary this technology is.
And Ochimerical...if it wasn't for this technology, you'd never have met me. Think how poorer, how duller, how downright boring your life would be not knowing me.

reminds me of an eidolonTLP vid, thought provoking stuff.

You're complicating. Its much simpler than this. Everything goes to shit. Eventually. Simple as that. It gets born again from its own shit and ash. And do the whole thing again and again
Yes interesting. Abortedsoul talks about this singularity thing a lot. Some good shit there, if you can get past the irritatingly smug ego of the man. You stress the positives; I'm afraid I see more negatives. Armies of superhumans wiping out we poor unevolved drones. Never underestimate man's capacity for doing evil unto his own. You were recently at the holocaust memorial. There is testament to how inhuman humans can be. But the subject is fascinating. Is this evolution's next leap?

You make a good point. Human nature as a whole in its entire history has portrayed a self destructive image, theres no doubting that. The possiblity of machine intelligence taking over and wiping us out is a very possible scenario, and its impossible to tell at this point. One thing is for sure though, we do have the power and the abtility to create a great future for our race, that has to be realized in order for us to thrive in the future.

The singularity I speak of in this video is a theory. It doesnt represent my core beliefs, however it does provide some persuasive insight into how technology could perhaps evolve in the near future, using real data to project the most likely of scenarios for the future. It's one of many subjects that I think should be seriously considered and debated, and thats why I posted this video.
