Annette Hanshaw sings this snappy "Talkie Hit" from "Be Yourself". Phil Spitalny's Music makes it sparkle as she declares her romance. . 78s like this makes me love the 20s! Recorded January 30, 1930. The perfect song to have a roadster petting party with! Besides making records of all the big song hits of the late twenties, Annette also sang in a Helen Kane imitation voice, creating a whole new personality on records as Dot Dare! She is the only singer I know of that sang with 2 voices! Be sure and play her other song hit from this movie called "Cooking Breakfast for the One I Love". I just posted it also.
Yes, Billy Rose who wrote the words was married to Fanny Brice at the time. She sang this in the movie.

The adorable flapper who turns on the heat for her latest "pash" is one Sally Starr. Hello Beautiful! This forgotten starlet gives the most alluring screen kiss I have ever seen! Her big love scene here should start her a fan club! You can also see how well she could dance in my "Sophomore" vid. A Nancy Carroll type beauty with instant appeal, loads of talent, but only 2 or 3 pictures to her credit. This is what beautiful girls looked like when Annette recorded this song!

  • @bsgs98 Thankyou for your kind comments! It seems to be my best seller! But for my best animations, watch Annette sing Cookin Breakfast! Enjoy my friend.

  • OH! MY!! GOD!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!! I have this song on a Diva, This version is slightly different then mine! THIS VIDEO IS JUST FANTASTIC!!! You sir are a pro.

  • @roybo1930 Grand of you to stop by and enjoy my 78s! Its a pleasure to get such a glowing compliment from the biggest jazz 78 collector on youtube! Your Diva sounds great! I bet it has all the lyrics too! My dance version here only has the refrain, but how sweet it is! The catchy syncopation on this knocks me out.

  • Thanks a lot for this special Annette Hanshaw who has many ardent fans like me and still gains new ones !

  • @tomekpy You are so welcome. I wanted to mix a novel showcase for Annette and this great tune. She made so many fine records from the jazz age, didn't she? Such happy times. I hope this brings you a share!
