Cohen's meant a lot to me when it first came out, Cale's cover put it back on "the map" with an angrier version, which led to Buckley's amazing guitar solo full of a mix of the anger from Cale and sexual healing from Cohen's. Burke's is a close second to Lang's as a power ballad. Both the Swedish quartet's and Rufus' (especially duet with sister, Martha) are moving, and Timberlake/Morris version at the Haiti benefit, are true to the original, but stripped back down from Cohen's orchestral arran

This kid is sweet (and cute) but I feel and understand the pain and angst of Leonard, from the first moment I heard this song, when it first came out. Sorry, I think Rufus Wainwright's version tops both. After hearing LC, I can't understand how he is even considered a singer. Amazing.

I have to disagree listen to Cale's version Buckley I have to say is much more moving, and the voice is awesome. Too bad about his passing he could have been a legend is if he weren't now
