A more HQ clip featuring the mashup made by Above&Beyond at their celebration of 350 episodes of Trance Around The World.
Some guys happened to be talking right when the tune was playing, so i thought to remake this mashup, using whatever i could find on the internet.
The interesting fact about the mixing process is that all the live audio footage i could find was recorded in mono mode, so i chose two clips, i judged the camera man's angle by looking at the images, for both of them and so they became the left channel and the right channel respectively.
Enjoy!

LE: YouTube stole my highs, so here is a 44100 Hz version:

  • download link is broken. nice version!

  • Epic.. Can we get a Download Link? Thanks in Advance Maestro =D

  • @SSdraken The main problem with this track was that no one had a good version of sunny lax's remix. This is the whole 'support' for the symphony. You have that remix, and you'll have the mashup. You can find Bittersweet Symphony anywhere. All you have to do is to stretch it a bit in key and copy-paste. I thought anyone can do that so once a better version of the remix (that is, no mashup) appears, my video becomes obsolete.

  • @phane88 I doubt he'd do that then slap his own name on it. Yeah I'm just a bit surprised at your suggestion that the non-mashup official version is somehow a better version of the mashup than yours. I mean, it's not even a mashup. So how can it be a better version of the mashup? lol, the mind boggles :D i wouldn't want to use the track without the strings anyway, that's the crowd pleasing part ;)

  • @SSdraken they are still better versions because they use the original bassline and kicks, which i couldn't restore from live recordings; as you know, they suffer the most damage. The recreation is fine, by far the most usable on decks, but i'm pretty sure the guy got hold of the original release somehow.

  • @phane88 How are any of those better versions? None except the official non-mashup release are usable in a DJ set, and the official release is not a mashup. There is however, a really good mashup someone has made that is a great recreation. link is v=Dw41AZLckUg . enjoy!

  • @SSdraken well, there is this 1h set that nitrous oxide played a few weeks ago on AH.FM: unibytes.com/ 0L1k56h5s-4B ; this one contains the mashup.

Then there is TATW episode 355 which you can download easily from livesets.us for example. This one does not contain the bittersweet symphony strings but you can put them easily with some audio editing tool.

And, of course, there is the official release, check out beatport.com. Also no mashup.

  • @phane88 Care to link any? Thanks

  • this remake i made is now obsolete; plenty of better versions appeared meantime
