Eliza Palasz as Sally Bowles, Ballard High school, Seattle, 2011. Cabaret music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. Watch the entire 3+ minutes, as Sally is thrown on stage after a fight with Cliff and intentionally starts weak and builds.

Update: Eliza was nominated for a 5th Avenue Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and the production received an additional 5 nominations and 2 Honorable mentions.

  • You might want to include that Eliza was nominated last night for Best Actress in the 5th Avenue Theater Awards. BHS was nominated for six awards and two honorable mentions. See the 5th Ave Theater website for the list.

  • @mdawg168 - Will do, and hoorah for Ballard! They deserve all the accolades for an amazing production!!

  • This is my absolute favorite rendition of Cabaret. At 0:54, she mentions "Right this way, your table's waiting" and accidentally glances at the table where she and Cliff first met, then tries to push it out of her mind.

  • Gorgeous voice & control!

  • @ulikebabymakenoise -- Let me know and I'll re-check with some who were iffy about posting it. You all were absolutely fantastic!! ;-)

  • @krisj5886 I was in don't tell mama and im sure we'd all love to see it!! I can ask if you'd like!

  • @ecjbkat26 - I have "Don't Tell Mama" but don't have permission from all the kids to post it (although it's an amazing version). Hopefully someone else has something. Wish I could see it ALL again!

  • @krisj5886 after watching this again recently (and still being amazed with it's greatness) i was wondering if there are any more clips from this performance that you could post. i'm curious to see how wonderful the rest of the show was!

  • @dag1224 - Comment was inadvertently deleted -- it read

"I make the kids in my theater program watch this clip to see what a kid is capable of doing. I don't know what part of this number I enjoy more, her "chums" or her facial expression just before the blackout. Freakishly talented." -dag1224

  • As one of the lighting technicians who got to see Eliza sing this more than six times, I must admit that I miss working on Cabaret.

  • There's currently a major bug in YouTube's comment system, so please forgive any weirdness you notice.
