@45thundertrain But compare A New Level to the rest of Far Beyond Driven. Its not much of a difference.

@warlockmetal1 His voice was already deepening before he did heroine compare a new level and becoming

@45thundertrain The whiskey, smoking, painkillers, heroin, and methadone all contributed to Phils voice. Heroin DOES have an effect on vocal cords.
I doubt Phil blew his voice on CFH. Ther reasoned he abandoned falsetto was so he can move into heavier territory with Vulgar and everything after. We wasnt going to use falsetto no matter what.
RTS is their heaviest album to me. Nothing is heavier than It Makes Them Dissappear, Goddamn Electric, I'll Cast a Shadow, Grind that Axe, and Yesterday'.

@warlockmetal1 The lyrics part I understand but heroine does not make your voice deeper smoking ciggarettes and whiskey do, he also blew out his voice on the CFH tour that is why there is no falsettos featured on VDOP. I also think far beyond driven is much heavier than reinventing the steel.

@45thundertrain Fuck yes it did. Phils lyrics getting darker and full of hate and his voice getting deep as fuck and sounding almost gutteral, and his mindset changing and leading the band into crazier territory = Southern Trendkill and Reinventing the Steel, heaviest Pantera albums. You can definitely trace all that back to the heroin.

I love Pantera, but I will say THIS: Even though Phil's heroin addiction damaged his health and relationship with the guys as well as change Pantera forever, it made the music fuckin HEAVIER
