From my favorite Blues album ever, called 'Evil' by Lucky Lopez Evans. Recorded in 1988 and 1989 and put to CD in 1990. I had this years ago and lost it. Ive been searching for it for a VERY long time, all over the web with no luck. Seems its as rare as rockinghorse shite, which is strange as its so good.... But I got 'lucky' today, so I thought I'd share it : )

  • I was working at the Fleece and Firkin in Bristol in 1990 when Lucky came to play. Half an hour before he was due on, there was panic - Lucky had disappeared. His manager went looking, and found him in a burger bar. He'd got worried he might not be able to get something to eat later, so he made sure he got something. He gave me this album on vynil and signed it, and the CD, as thanks for working. I'm sorry to hear he died. But he lives on through his music. Rayardheron you must be very proud x

  • @AuntieWelly

    Wow..... Lucky Auntie Welly !!!!

I bet you've got an amazing CD/Record collection....

  • @basketcase3 You really are lucky's biggest fan huh? He was an amazing guy and that's an evening I will always treasure. Did he ever release any other CDs? I've never been able to find any.

  • @AuntieWelly

Also released (in the USA I think) - 'Southside Saturday Night' which also has a couple of tracks from 'Evil', but even though l like it, it doesn't 'hit that spot' like 'Evil' does.....

  • I saw LLE in the Kings Hotel in Newport South Wales about 20 years ago and thought he was the real deal. Bought some of his CDs and I tell you, this man is The Blues itself. Mac the owner of the hotel did not seem to rate him much but then again white man can't sing the blues !!!

  • @basketcase3 I get exactly what you mean ... there's a track on 'Evil' for everyone in any life situation, each more beautiful than the last. Except Chicken Heads, I don't like Chicken Heads. Thanks for that. And sorry I didn't answer but no there's nothing amazing about my old CD collection, just one or two treasures ... which I found at the rainbow's end :)

  • You Lucky Lucky bastard.!!!!!!! : )

  • 20 years ago, saw Lucky in Lewes, Sussex. A fantastic musician - said he would play until the sun came up and he nearly did....... Does anyone else remember this?
