Chandler talks about growing up in the 80s and 90s in an atmosphere of moralistic deism, and does some cutting on Christian music in the process.

  • What sermon is this from? I would really like to hear the rest of it.

  • @weslaw19912345 Go to the village church website and search for the sermon on homosexuality. I think that's the title. For some reason it won't let me post the link.

  • @a0adio0 There's a website of Matt's past sermons if you gave me the date for this one I think I could find it. Please and thank you.

  • @NteTaiNeme What's the website? I know that this sermon is actually more of a seminar and Q&A entitled "Culure and Theology: Homosexuality".

  • I'm not a Christian but this was hilarious. I know exactly what this guy is talking about.

  • @thegranitebison This is pretty hilarious no matter what faith you hold. As a Christian I appreciate this kind of thing.

  • Greed isnt a person, it was just the way i typed it lol

  • @greed, i was convicted to give up my secular music at that time, when i was first saved, all they had in the UK was these cheesy sugary Songs of Fellowship tapes and Christian rock bands were afraid to use the J word, though i did like Kim Hill, Julie Miller, but when Matt Redman , delirious and the Tribe came along it was like nectar. The Brits do it best :)

  • @weslaw19912345 google the title

  • Hey! I like D.C. Talk! Maybe some of their early stuff was not that great, I don't know, but I like them. Red Letters is one of my favorite songs!

  • Looking back at the 90s, I remember names like Bryan Duncan, Kim Hill, Chiz Rider, Kellye Huff, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michele Pilar, BeBe and CeCe Winans, and Babbie Mason. On the jazz end of things, you had people like Jack Jezzro and the Brentwood Jazz Quartet and Orchestra, as well as local group Vespers. Randy Stonehill was still pretty active, as was Michael Card, and Carman and Cindy Morgan were burnin' up the CCM charts as well.

  • I love this guys point. I am a Christian, and listen to nothing but positive music, but Christian lyrics were lame. I love God so don't be offended.

  • Just one question; don't be offended guys, I'm just curious:

any reason why God shouldn't condemn me for worldliness?

  • You must have only listened to Dctalk and a few other bands because there were great Christian bands in the 90's. Your whole "lame Christian music" rant falls on its face because in order to make such a statement means that you listened to a lot of it and you didnt. Also, do be aware that GOOD artist don't rehash others, they create new things.

  • dunno about all this. Satan is dead seriousl. We joke and call worldy or satanic things 'lame' @ our peril. When I repented, and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost I took Paul seriouosly when he said to burn our magic arts. I took a book outside written by Carlos Canstandos(sp) wizard. I lit it on fire and my boyfriend was standing right next to me and honest to God that book screamed! My boyfriend RAN up the stairs and into the house. This event happened almost 30 years ago

  • @stop08it i think you might in particular, enjoy the blog i write. i just finished an entry entitled 'the gospel' about how the Lord has pursued me via music...for years...as a fervent agnostic, even.
