Some people will tell you that 'hoodies' are just another example of a youth cult scaring adults. For hoody we might as well just read teddy boy, rude boy, mod, rocker, skin-head, casual and so on... But rather than being a specific style or cult, the hoody is an item of clothing worn by most children and mostly by children. It's not the visibility of a youth cult in public space that scares people - it's youth culture itself. This is fundamentally changing public space. Recent research has shown that in the UK, 71% of adults said they played out on the street everyday when they were children. Only 21% of today's children said they do. The forthcoming Demos pamphlet Seen and Heard argues that children have been written out of public space. For more information, visit www.demos.co.uk.

Wow this a great video and great info. But more over it's not that just kids have no where to go but public behavior is getting out of hand. People in general are just getting rude.
