I think playing against Big XII spread QBs who are good runners like Colt McCoy, Todd Reesing, and Zac Robinson exposed some flaws in his game. I agree that he gets too far in the backfield. When the QB is in the shotgun and sees the entire field he doesn't have a lot of trouble escaping Gerald McCoy, but it does give the rest of the defense (an LB, DE, or Safety) an opportunity to make a play. Suh seems much better at 'closing'.
Gerald, congratulations on being drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2010 NFL Draft. I know that you are excited and looking forward to August 14 when you all travel to Sun Life Stadium to face the Miami Dolphins. I live in South Carolina and we occasionally get Bucs games here. But watch yourself; don't let some lush ruin you. You know what has happened to a certain QB. Just be careful. And best of luck. Peace out.
tampa 2 defense is not about makin big plays all the time....its about being at all places at all times seemingly to the offense, therefor forcing them into GIVING you a big play. its worked for 10 yrs and mccoy fits that to the T
Could be dominant in Tampa's scheme. While Suh is the better player by a slight edge, I think McCoy will have the better career, especially if he gets with a Tampa 2 team. Those who knock his run defense...Warren Sapp once said he "plays the run on the way to the quarterback." Now, McCoy is no Sapp, but his job is identical. Food for thought...
i am a die hard bucs fan and i would preffer suh over mccoy just because suh is more physical and he has great pursuit but mccoy isnt a bad choice either but if suh is there we better take him

Wouldn't mind seeing him as a Buc at all. He is an ideal Tampa 2 DT. He reads plays very well.
